A brave and valiant living hero
Contrary to what Félix Tshisekedi told MPs from his USN majority, President Joseph Kabila Kabange has never been a coward. He is a wise strategist who does everything in its proper time and knows when to strike. Yes, fools mistake the king's patience for weakness.
Born in the Hewa Bora bush camp in eastern DR Congo, President Joseph Kabila Kabange has revolution in his blood. From his earliest years, he was steeped in patriotism, discipline, a spirit of sacrifice and, above all, love of country.
Alongside his father, Mzee Laurent-Désiré Kabila, of blessed memory, Joseph Kabila Kabange fought in the bush and the forest, far from the luxury and nightclubs in which Félix Tshisekedi indulged in Brussels, while his father opposed Mobutu by day and dined with him by night.
When the Mobutu regime fell in 1997, President Joseph Kabila Kabange, then a general in the armed forces, was in combat boots, yes, boots, and on several fronts, fighting to free the Congo from Mobutu's regime, a 32-year dictatorship.

When his father died in 2001, he inherited a country in trouble, deep trouble, torn apart by rebellions and by former Mobutu loyalists. In 2003, he agreed to share power with four vice-presidents in order to reunify the DRC and set it on the path to development.
In 2006, he gave the DRC a constitution born of a popular referendum, followed by three election cycles: 2006, 2011 and 2018. Out of love for his country, Joseph Kabila Kabange, who had fought and sacrificed his youth, even his childhood, for the DRC, agreed to hand over power to the son of a former opposition leader.
“Sadly, he handed it to a demagogue and a reckless opportunist. From the moment he took office, Félix Tshisekedi set about dismantling the work of his predecessor. He made tribalism a method of government, alongside embezzlement, diplomatic fumbling and the discrediting of the army.”
“Contrary to what Félix Tshisekedi told MPs from his USN majority, President Joseph Kabila Kabange has never been a coward. He is a wise strategist who does everything in its proper time and knows when to strike. Yes, fools mistake the king's patience for weakness.”
Fear is written across the face of Félix Tshisekedi, who is uncertain of his future because of a string of economic scandals, human rights abuses and killings. His obsession with changing the constitution only confirms that fear.
