AFC/M23 Political Leadership Pays Final Tribute to Cimpunda Fire Victims in Bukavu

During a commemorative ceremony that brought together grieving families, provincial authorities of South Kivu and officials from the city of Bukavu, an atmosphere of profound emotion hung over the participants.

With heads bowed and overwhelmed by grief, the two high-ranking officials of the AFC/M23 paid their respects before the coffins of the victims.

The fire, which broke out on 10 September in Bukavu, claimed the lives of more than 27 people predominantly schoolchildren and caused extensive material damage.
